During days when the Rhino is not in use, the owner can set the cooler into ECO mode. The lights will be turned off and the temperatures managed so as to save 33% from normal operating conditions.
The Rhino series of outdoor coolers boast super-fast chill down times as well as having best-in-class energy efficiency. Every component has been selected from a panel of top brand name suppliers for its energy efficient properties.
For example the fan motors which circulate the cool air are designed to consume 70% less electricity than their old technology equivalents. The lighting used in these outdoor fridges is low energy & long life LED. The glass has two layers of insulating Low E film and the gap in between the two panes is filled with Argon. Press the ECO button and the electronic control will reduce the consumption by a third.

LED technology is used to illuminate every GSP cabinet. As well as a lasting approximately 5 times as long, LED lights produce less heat than an old style fluorescent tube strip light. This means that there is less work for the cooler to do. They typically use a tenth of the power of the old style tubes.
The compressor has the highest Coefficient of Performance (CoP) that Rhino engineers could specify. A top Brazilian brand is utilised.
The condenser is the component that dissipates the heat taken from inside the cooler. A surface area 4 times greater than a household cooler, combined with a powerful fan ensure that the GSP series displays unmatched efficiency.
Low E glass is coated with a special UV Reflective film which is unobservable to the naked eye. In combination with inert Argon gas within the sealed unit, it helps to ensure that heat is kept out and cold is kept in. A side benefit is that condensation on the door glass is reduced on high humidity days.
The GSP series uses a natural refrigerant known as R600a which is recommended by Greenpeace as the most sustainable choice. It has negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP) and in combination with cyclopentane blown insulation foam, it ensures that every Rhino cabinet is not only CFC free but also fully HFC free.
